Nerezine

 Nerezine is situated at the foot of the hill of Osorcica, by the side of the main road. It is a village gradually developed to a seafaring and shipbuilding settlement, still making wooden boats. In the past Nerezine used to be connected to Osor, mainly for its arable land that supplied the population at that time.

 Nerezine is special for the old castle, the Franciscan Monastery and the church built by the patrician Colane Drasa in the 15th century. Nerezine became a tourist destination in the last century mainly because of the hill of Osorcica, with the highest peak Televrin 558 m high. From the peak there is a breathtaking view to the whole archipelago all the way to Susak and further, on the West side to Istria and the Apeninian, on the North to Triglav, on the East to Gorski kotar and Velebit protecting the islands of Rab, Pag, Silba and Olib.

 There are two holiday villages, two campsites and two small hotels, one of them by the seashore, and many privat rooms and apartments offering comfortable accommodation. There is also a shipyard with a long tradition of shipbuilding in wood, a new marina is being reformed and it will certainly enrich the tourist offer of the village.
